Q: I son has ADHD and his grades is really low. We transfer him to a better school. How can I get him to feel good about himself when other kids is so more advance in their reading?

I am not a medical professional and would not be able to give you medical advice.

 

You don't mention where you are from. Is your child in school in the United States? If so, you can request an evaluation to determine if he is eligible for an IEP or accommodations under Section 504. You would also be able to have him tested to see if he is eligible to receive extra reading help.

 

Many schools also offer tutoring programs after school. Your son can receive extra assistance in areas he is having difficulty with.

 

Talk with your son's teacher, she may be able to give you work you can use at home to help your son.

 

It is also important to remind your son that everyone is good at some things, but no one is good at everything.
