How can I get medication when insurance won't cover doctor costs?

I've been to the doctor for get more tests for ADD/HD and had to stop just short of getting medication. The insurance didn't cover enough and we couldn't afford visits so now I haven't had medication. Isn't there another way I can get medication? I thought ADD/HD was covered under the ADA? I just…
