    Because everyone metabolizes medication at a different rate, there is no exact answer to your question. Usually, this medication is no longer effective after approximately 4-6 hours (or longer for the extended release). Normally, it is out of your system somewhere between 2 and 4 days, but again, this is just an approximation. Each person will be different and this may be longer if you have been taking this medication for an extended period of time.
