Q: past or present

does anyone else seem to be cought up in the past, trying to remember things that happend? I tend to think back on things and try to remember exactly what happened, and this is not fun, because I can't seem to get all the details, and I start to worry about how it all went down..

Hi Rollercoaster,

Funny you should bring this up, because I just posted a SharePost on this very topic. You can read it at http://www.healthcentral.com/adhd/c/all/?ic=4019 . It's titled, "When Having a Bad Memory Can Be a Blessing" and it's about knowing how my awful memory affects how I recall - or fail to recall- important events in my life.

In the post, I suggest keeping a blog, but a diary will do just as well.

At any rate, you aren't alone!

Terry

No one can remember things accurately, and everyone else will have an entirely different version of the events anyway, so stop torturing yourself. I keep a journal, otherwise I'd have no idea I even had a life! This is especially important for recalling people and their names as names are an impossiblility for me to remember. The biggest challenge - forgiving yourself for forgetting. And staying in the Now. Reply
