Just found out I have adhd, so I'm a bit nervous, but at the same...

hi, I am curious about ADHD and pegnancy so I have a few questions.

- when on Ritalin, how long before I plan to get pregnant will I have to go off Ritalin?

- and what happens if I accidentally get pregnant?

-during pregnancy, how will my body behave? will I go back to the way I was before I started Ritalin?

-during pregancy/after birth, are the chances greater for a woman with ADHD than one without to get a post partum depression?

- and the last one, how long after birth can I start taking Ritalin again?

Thank you for any answers:)

While I was pregnant with my son I made certain both with my OBGYN and my specialist (have a blood cot disorder that often causes pregnancies to result in miscarriages) confirmed with me that it was fine to take my regular dose the entire time I was pregnant but never in increased amounts. Of course, it is always best to ask your dr. Pregnancy is a wonderful time and you should not have to worry about that hormones affect us all but no more then the next woman and definitely ask a licensed professional but as I said both of my drs recommended I continue my medication while I was pregnant and my son came out beautiful and healthy.
