why would my grandson urinate pn my batroom floor he is almost 8 years old

why would my granson urinate on the bathroom floor and how do you settle this with him

we get him as often as we can. buy him things toys to have here clothes for here and take him places. we are good to him. this is the second time he has done this here. how do i handle this. he is bi ploar and has ADHDD.

I do not think your grandson is doing this because he doesn't feel you are doing enough for him. It would be impossible, however, for me to say why he is doing this.

 

Is he acting out and looking for attention? Is there problems at home that may be causing this behavior? Is he doing this at home as well as at your house? Have you discussed this with his parents?

 

Children with ADHD (and all children) respond well to structured and consistent discipline as well as positive reinforcement. Rather than punish your grandson or becoming frustrated with his behavior, try to use this as an opportunity to help him learn correct behavior. Please be sure to talk with his parents to make sure all of you are working together to solve this problem.

You may want to make sure to provide rewards for your grandson when this behavior does not happen rather than waiting for it to happen and then becoming upset.
