My son is 12 yrs. old, has ADHD and is Bipolar. Any suggestions on a way to curb his behavior?

While in a hyper episode, he has a tendency to hit me.  He is a big boy.  He is almost six feet tall (taller than me.)  My son in on medication to try to help him and control his moods.  His doctor has also suggested that he is suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress disorder as we are originally from New Orleans and were there when Hurricane Katrina came through.

It sounds as if you have been taking the proper steps, getting your son the medical help he needs. If your son is not currently in therapy, that may be helpful to aid him in creating behavioral strategies for himself and learning to understand his moods and more constructive responses.
