Often people refer to ADHD without hyperactivity as ADD and ADHD with hyperactivity as ADHD. However, some people use either the term ADD or ADHD to mean the same thing. You should clarify with your doctor whether he or she was referring to "no hyperactivity" or just used the term ADD.
