my child argues with me everytime i tell her to do something
My daughter is 10yrs old and has ADHD. I have not found anything that makes her listen the 1st time i tell her to do something. she says ok and always gets distracted. She is taking medication but that only helps some. I am looking for discipline that works with ADHD children. I feel like i have tried everything.. I appreciate your suggestions..
Thanks for your question and welcome to ADHDCentral.com
Children with ADHD often respond to discipline that is consistent and based on a positive reward/consequence system. Children with ADHD also tend to need more supervision than children without ADHD, it can be frustrating and exhausting for parents.
Medication can help many children but it really is only part of the solution. Behavior modification systems really do help. Studies have shown that these two together are most effective in dealing with symptoms of ADHD.
I am providing links to articles with additional information that may help:

I hope this helps.
