The type drug a child takes for the Adhd is dependant on many things. It depends on if the child had any relatives with depression, heart problems, etc. In other words consult a doctor and read all you can about treating AdHd. Be sure the child is correctly diagnosed and that he or she is not bi-polar. Sometimes the symptoms are confused and it is not Adhd, but bi-polar.  I was told by a pyschiarist that one certain kind did not work as well as others, but I still say it depends on the child. There is also an adjustment period that a child goes through to determine the correc dosage. Best to work with a good peditrician!!
