    I k ow I was on Ritalin in 1966 and the fact that I was a girl was considered rare to need the drug. At that time they felt only boys were ADHD. I was so bored in school I would get up and walk out of school and one day I was his all day long not thinking of the terror I put my parents through. The entire town was looking for me. That was when Lawrence Ks was not such a large city. It soon became I was put in the office to help secretary sort papers my home work was to grade the other kids papers. They didn't know how to deal with it back then. A Ku pyschiatrist worked with our family and ended up on talk show in New York and she did a book at Ku about ADHD but they didn't have a name for it then. I just took my go to school pill ever day. I even stayed out of school a year and went back the next year with my former classmates so I was jumped a class but didn't go to school for a year.iI had 2 children both boys my youngest son started on Ritalin and went thru the different ones.
