I have ADD, I am in my thirties and also had a little trouble succeeding in school. It wasn't until college that I managed to find subjects that interested me and I started to develop my hyperfocusing skills.  If your still in H.S. or attending college at the moment, you can try to find something your good at,example, artwork, and begin to hyperfocus.  This elevated level of focusing could help you study for other least favorite subjects. Also, the key thing is to repeat the exercises before a test. this can help a person with ADD as well.  Its had helped me.
