Thank you for your question and welcome to

Although I could not find information specific to Depakote, other mood stabilizers and antidepressants indicate that some people can feel positive effects from medication after 1-2 weeks but the full effect of the medication may take up to 4 weeks. I am not sure if this is the same for depakote.

I would suggest asking your doctor or your pharmacist for more specific information.

For depakote to work? Depakote is used for seizure disorders and is usually titrated up I believe. I am not a physician but have medical training. It comes in long acting and short acting forms. ( Depakote ER and Depakote) so your question is confusing. What is it supposed to be doing?

This is a question best asked to your physician. I have never heard of Depakote for ADD but that doesn't mean it's not used.
