**My son takes 30 mg of Adderall XR (i q am po) once every morning by mouth. But, I have to break the capsule open and put it in Applesauce, feeding it to him. With it being an Extended Release medication, does that not affect the medication? It does not seem to work as well on him as it should and the side effects of it are ...WOW!! Side effects and "coming down off of the meds" are amplified. I wanted to add this because  his meds are worn off by the time he arrives home from school between 3:30-3:45 pm. The doctor hasn't tried anything else, he keeps increasing the dosage, regardless of this though, my son digests the medicine just as quickly as he did on 10mg. My husband and others seem to think he is being "BAD" just tgo be bad, not keeping in mind how he may feel, like he is Edgy, Aggressive, Cries for hours...all of the ADHD symptoms are present again.

We cannot give you medical advice, bu I can tell you that I don't think that your son is being bad on purpose; I think that if he could act nortmall then he would.  I do think that you should stopp your son from up dosing the doses, that mybe why he is acting funny.  I also think that you should get your sone into some theropy.  It certainly has helped me.
