Q: Is anxiety a common symptom od ADHD?

I recently had my six your old son diagnosed with ADHD. I too feel that I have this after much research and seeing my son having the same behaviors and traits as I did as a child. Is anxiety linked to ADHD? I'm currently 40 years old and started having panic attacks at age 18. Also it's interesting to learn that nicotine is something ADHD individuals crave. I have strugglrd with this also.  Also if someone starts on medication, is it life long treatment?

                                            Sincerely, Donna

Yes it can be.  I have ADD my self as well as dyslexia, and I know that when you are ADD your mind is thinking all the time.  Sometimes what your mind thinks aren't always good things. Like for example, if you were picked on at school your mind will be constanly be thinking about that which can lead up to enxiety; and your mind can overlap thoughts with with other thoughts wether or not they are borth godd or bad.
