Q: Please Hep Can I Suggest Adderall?

OK so i was finally prescribed medication for my add/adhd last wee (concerta 18mg) didn't work at all. I told my Dr today and I'm meeting with her tomorrow to discuss better options. But this morning i was talking with a relative who also has add/adhd and he offered to let me try his 30mg Adderall and for the first time in what feels like forever i was able to function. Can i tell her i tried the Adderall and it worked amazing for me? and hope she lets me try it ? I really think this could be the answer I've been waiting for. I actually got the things done without procrastinating, and at the same time could sit down without fidgeting and have a normal conversation without interrupting or needing to hear it twice. Please help!

Hi there

I am wondering if you needed to give the concerta more of a chance since you took it less than a week?  Was there a reason why this medication was prescribed more than any other?

It was a risk for you to take someone else's pills and not under a doctor's guidance.  But now you have this information.  I would ask about the Adderall if this is what you want but also ask about side effects and how to safely stop taking the Concerta.  It is up to you as to how you wish to bring up the topic.

Let us know how things work out for you!  Thank you for your question.
