How do I teach my pre-teen ADHD son to evaluate the risk before he is injured?

My 13 year old son with ADHD just set off a firework in his closet! He found a dud and lit the paper around it, he said he thought he could put it out right away but it went off. He burned his hand and the carpet in the closet. The house was full of smoke too. I am scared for him because of his...
