Q: looking for local support group for ADHD spouses

My husband and I have been married 33 years, and he has known for the past ten that he is ADHD.  However, he no longer is willing to take any medications or get any help for this problem.  Consequently, I seem to play the responsible role in the relationship and I suffer from depression as a result.  He owns his own business, and those he works with also suffer.  Without going into great detail, I need help!  All of the articles I read from ADHD spouses, online or otherwise, clearly I relate to.  Is there any support group(s) that you can refer me to in the Kalamazoo, MI area?

Thank you for your question and welcome to ADHDCentral.com.

We do not have a data base of support groups around the country, however, you should be able to locate a support group through one of the sites below. You can contact groups in your area and ask if there are meetings specifically for spouses:

CHADD

ADDA

ADDResources

ADDConsults

I hope this helps.

I am also looking for that support group too. I am up on this search engine, because  I feel lonely, upset, frustrated, exhausted, hopeless and insecure with the thought what is next problem that will be created by my husband and when. There is no single day I do not deal with his disorder and no single day I am not upset. I just clean my heart this morning with the Lord and fogive and forget everything he made my upset past few days. 2 hours later, he did another irrational thing and made me upset. I do not want to be upset all the time. It make me look bad, but after constantly dealing with ADHD character, I don't know how what to do not to upset and frustrated. I need help too. May be we can encourage each other.
