Imagynne,

Your local library should have a Physicians Desk Reference (PDR) that will assist you in determining what medication you were given.

Adderall is an excellent medication, but, as with all medications, response is highly individual. If you have side effects or a medical condition that is made worse by stimulants, it's better to find out at a lower dose. For comparison, when I was prescribed Adderall, I took 10 mgs.

Medication alone will not teach you the skills you have not yet learned due to your symptoms and other environmental conditions. Skills are learned through books and lectures, and from mentors, counselors, and coaches.

Let me know if you'd like assistance in finding a healthcare professional who can properly evaluate and treat you.

Hey Imagynne,

Your local library should have a Physician's Desk Reference (PDR) that will help you determine what medication you were given.

Response to medication is individual. Sometimes it reduces symptoms, sometimes it causes side effects, and, in some cases, it makes other diagnosed or as yet diagnosed conditions worse. For these reasons, it's best to start with a low dose under the care and supervision of a medical professional, preferably one who is experienced in monitoring and adjusting stimulant medications. For comparison, I was prescribed 10 mgs. Adderall when I took it.

Medication alone enhances functioning but will not teach you needed skills. Let me know if you'd like information on how to find a professional to properly evaluate and treat you.
