Hi Pegasus,

A small percentage of people taking stimulants do seem to develop a tolerance and find that it no longer is affective. For those folks, changing to another medication often helps, or slowly increasing the dosage they're currently on may help. Some find that they have to rotate ADHD meds in order for them to be effective.

Hormonal changes, growth, stress and other factors can affect how stimulants are working.  It's best to talk to your physician if this has become a problem for you.

Pegasus,

I have been on meds for over 13 years now (except for a short period 7 yrs ago) and did find at one point that my meds weren't as effective as they once were. I discussed my options with my doctor and under his guidance increased my dosage, this worked for me, if you feel that yours are not as effective, I recommend speaking with your doctor.
