crissyd522 is a mother of 3!!

I am married and a mother of 3 children. I have 2 boys and a girl....

My son has been just diagnosed with ADHD combined with a mild case of bipolar and my health insurance does not cover any Dr's appts so I have been paying out of my pocket for all Dr's appts. I am really strapped b/c my husband has been layed off for the past 3 months. But I guess here is my question I might be able to get assistance from the state (PA) but I have to go through Social Security disablity to get it. My fear is that he will be labeled disabled for the rest of his life and I don't want that especially since he is very gifted. I don't want to do anything to screw up his life down the road. I might get denied and have to go through PA Medicaid loophole but I am just afraid that he might get labeled.  If anyone has any experience with this or advice please help!!

Thank you

I am having the same problem but I dont think you have to get social security to pay but you can get medicaid but the only problem with having medicaid it limits your dental as well as medical because alot of the good dentists and doctors will not take medicaid because it doesn't pay on time but you are right if you get social security it is a label he will be considered disabled and what if he gets treatment now and is ok but later on has another problem it may be harder for him to get it
