Do I have to get my tested at school before he is put on medication for ADHD?

My 6 year old son has just been diagnosed with combined ADHD by a psychologist. I took him to a pediatrician that specializes in behavior problems and now he wants the school to do testing before doing anything. Do I have to get my son tested at school? It seems that the pediatrician doesn't...
