Sunday, August 09, 2009 HINRGLADY asks

Q: Is there an ADHD medication that does not have side effects, mostly tics?

Is there any ADHD medication out there that does not exacerbate tics? My son has been on Adderall, Concerta, Straterra, and Vyvanase and all produced tics. Thanks in advance and look forward to your response.

Thank you for your question and welcome to ADHDCentral.com.

I am sorry you are having such a difficult time finding medication for your son. It seems that you have tried many of the medications specifically for ADHD. Some people have experienced help for ADHD with Wellbutrin, which is an antidepressant medication, if they have been unable to take stimulant medication.
