my 8 year old step son is being held back in 2nd grade and is devastated. I want to be able to show him that plenty of talented and successful people he views as celebrities, were once in his shoes and that he shouldn't view it as an embarrassment.
Q: does anyone know any celebrities who were held back a grade in school

How lucky you are!!
I am an adult with ADD and a mother of a 12 year old son name Paris with ADHD.
I have a wonderful list here for you with a poster you can buy of some of the coolest people with ADD/ADHD. It really helped my son when he not only saw some likable and familiar faces, but when he saw many were some of the greatest, most creative minds of our time.
Please let him know people with ADD/ADHD are most time of a HIGHER intelligence that those that don't and we are the most creative and fast thinkers.
Having ADD/ADHD is a GIFT, not a punishment, it's up to your step son to find out what he's good at and completely dive into it, when folks like he and I are good at something, we are the best................(Note: Michael Phelps, Walt Disney...etc)
