Q: Are there any step down meds to help with a longtime Adderall addiction?

I don't have the money for rehab treatment.  I'm desperate to get off this drug.  I'm just wanting to know if there is anything at all, that might help me.

Thank you for your question and welcome to ADHDCentral.com.

Adderall, when taken as prescribed, is not usually addictive, however, it you feel you are addictive you should speak with your doctor about weaning off the medication.

If you cannot afford a doctor, there are free clinics throughout the country. You can look up to see where the closest free medical clinic is at: http://freemedicalcamps.com/

Hi - This is Fran.  I was on adderall for quite some time.  Why are you desperate to get off Adderall?  Are you having bad side effects.  Regarding your question, you should talk to your doctor.
