If you feel you are going to harm your child, or someone else is going to physically harm your child, you should contact 911 and seek professional help.

I found that with my son spanking did not work.  I had to take his favorite toy, that he like to play with, away from him for one or two days until he learned you will get it back if you do your homework.  While doing his homework I had to give him 10 minute breaks after about 30 minutes of doing his homework.
