If your daughter had diabetes, and doctors said she needed insulin, would you let her have it?  If she was diagnosed with high blood pressure, and the doctors said she needs meds, would you let her have it?  Before you do start her on anything, I would get a second opinion--preferrably from a psychiatrist who specializes in ADHD.  My son was the kid who disrupted the class, ripped up his papers if his teacher offered any criticism at all, and stayed in trouble because he couldn't stay in his seat.  Within two weeks of being on ADHD meds, he finished each and every assignment promptly and correctly, was able to sit in his seat and listen to everything the teacher had to say, and listened patiently if she pointed out any mistakes on his schoolwork.  If she is placed on medicine, and she is able to concentrate--alleviating anxiety and stress caused by her inability to keep her mind on subject--then won't she be a happier person for it?  And obviously, if she is able to concentrate without stress, then she will want to stay in school and learn.

exactly wat the other person said my son who is 7yr. when he was diagnosed he was in kinigarden. had suspsion when he was in daycare but was to young, but  insted of tearing up the papers he would cry LOUDLY, nonstop get mad throw chairs tip over tables and still cry untill they call me and when i get there to pick him up he is still crying. but then he was put on medicine, now we tried diffrent ones to find the right one but now it is like  a whole diffrent person he is so smart he is only in the 2nd grade but he is on a 4th grade learning level on most of the subjects. he is learning spanish an sign language. and the meds does not have to be given evey day like not on the weekend if you dont want to give it an they have meds that only last for the period of time that they are in school. so i think it would be a good thing. try it for about a month or so and see, if you dont see a change then dont keep her on the meds.
