Q: Are there any adults out there using the Daytrana patch? It seems only for kids?!

I was prescribed it, and for some reason everything I read, is geared toward children.  I leave the patch on for 9 hours, which is not enough...  for a wife, mother, employee etc.etc....

Daytrana can actualy be left on for more than 9 hours. It remains effective, though for how long I don't know (and I am not an MD so get yours to discusd it with you. If s/he doesn't know about this, the information is out there somewhere because I learned of this from a pediatric psychiatrist.

Of course 9 hours isn't enough. Only the full day is enough! I get so irked by the idea (often from someone who has never experienced AD/HD, or listened thoroughly to patients who are articulate enough to warrant listening to) that the medication is only eeded for school, or work. It's a 24 hour disorder!

Hope it goes okay. Your doc should be willing to do whatever research is required to help you get the medical care you need to live an effective life.
