Q: how to confront my ADD fiance with his problem?

How can i confront him and suggest seeking professional help? After reading many blogs and articles on the topic, i became a little bit worried about our futur. I love him so much and i would like us to build our relationship on a strong basis, i.e. dealing with the fact that he has ADD.

How can i open up the subject and what should i do to give him support? I need an ADD's point of view.

Hello,

First you want to go to a support group meeting for AD/HD go to the CHADD web site and look for a meeting with a Support group in your area. Ask him to attend with you. Tell him in EXCAT WORDS" I love you too much to fight about this. I think we BOTH need help."

do not tell him that he has it Just say to him that the two of you have the smptoms and would like more information about it. and if he puts up a fight just say to him fine I am going to the meeting on this date_____ to get more information. and I would realy love it if you would support me just as much as I support you. I know that this apporch will work Because it woked with my husband who thought that I had AD/HD and when we went to a coupples meeting we found out that both of us had it I have the Inattentive Type and he has the Hyperactive /Impulsive Type. and we have Four children that have it as well. So we got lots of support on how to help all of us. We joined a support group called CHADD. (Children and Adults with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) it was $45.00 for a year we got some state of the art diagnosis and treatment information that allowed us to make some realy good sientificly basied desisions when it came down to the actual doctor and diagnosis.

So it is a good benifit to get involved. My family has backed me when I started my own support group though CHADD'S help. Hear in Long Beach California.I hope that this has been a little help to you.
