Thank you for your question and welcome to ADHDCentral.com.

When we do not get a good nights sleep (with or without ADHD) it can interfere with concentration and focus. When you have ADHD, these symptoms may worsen if you are not getting a proper amount of sleep.

If you have a history of insomnia or not sleeping well, it may be difficult to tell whether your lack of focus, etc is caused by not sleeping or ADHD.

On the other hand, insomnia is a frequent complaint of people with ADHD, racing thoughts and the inability to "turn off" thoughts can cause a problem falling asleep.

Talk with your doctor about your problems sleeping. He or she should be able to offer you solutions.
