Have any adults that any one knows of get "Cotton Mouth" since you have taken Strattera.  I started taking Staretta for the 1st time 2 wks ago on Sunday Sept. 28th, I started out taking 18mg Capsules that wk, 25mg Capsules the wk of Oct. 5th, & 2morrow Sunday Oct. 12th I start taking 40mg Capsules, then on Sunday Oct. 19th I will start taking 60mg Capsules & that's what the prescription will stay at from then on.  During my 2nd wk about 1/2 way thru it I started getting a "Cotton Mouth" my mouth was like always dry & I was wondering if anyone else out there when u started taking Strattera for the 1st time if u xperienced a "Cotton Mouth" feeling.  It's only been since Wednesday Oct. 8th that my mouth has been like that, when my son started taking 2-3 yrs ago he never xperienced it, so I was wondering if any one else has had that xperience.

Hi Heather and Kaleb,

Thank you for your question. Dry mouth is actually a pretty common side effect, occurring in up to 20% of the people who take Strattera. Other common side effects include headache, insomnia, upset stomach, and decreased appetite. You can read more about Strattera by clicking here. If the dry mouth becomes too bothersome, you can check with your doctor about switching to another medication. However, keep in mind that all medications have potential side effects, and you have to weigh the benefits of the medication against the side effects that you may experience. I hope this helps!

Best of luck,

Casey
