Thank you for your question and welcome to ADHDCentral.com.

The medication, I believe, you are thinking of is called Intuniv. It was approved for children with ADHD last year and is manufactured by Shire Pharmaceuticals.

I do not have any personal experience with this medication so I could not share my thoughts on it. Remember, medications work differently for each person so this may work well for one person, but not for another. If you are seeking a new medication for you or your child, it may be worth discussing with your doctor.

You can find out more about the medication from Shire: Intuniv .

My son was on Ritalin LA for 3 1/2 months and then it quit working.  His dr. switched him to Intuniv, starting today.  Today is his first day on it.  She was wary about moving him up to 30 mg of Ritalin, so wants us to try the new non-stimulant Intuniv, since he has some anxiety issues she thinks the Intuniv will help him and not increase any anxiety at the same time.  We'll see how it goes, today is Day One...
