ADHD and depression are common comorbid (or co-existing) conditions. Previously, it was thought that depression in those with ADHD was situational and caused by a person's inability to cope with the frustrations of living with ADHD. However, it is now understood that ADHD and depression can both be present and, if so, should both be treated.
I would suggest talking with your doctor about how you have been feeling. He or she would be better able to determine if you have depression and if so, what the best way to treat it would be.
