Q: Do scrolling or flashing ads bother anyone else?

They certainly take away my focus from reading what is on the page otherwise. Plus they make me a little nauseous; I just wait for them to stop scrolling or flashing before I continue reading.  I seem to see more of them on the internet these days.  :o)

These types of ads are distracting but unfortunately we must live with them (to a degree).  I found a few suggestions on how you can stop the ads, I have not tried these but you can investigate and see if they work:

Adblock Plus (http://adblockplus.org) Is supposed to work with Mozilla Firefox

http://prefbar.mozdev.org (Also works with Mozilla Firefox)

Let me know how they work for you if you decide to try.

I hear you Meggie.  The ones I hate are the ones with the dancing people or the bugs which move across the top of the page on other web sites.  That freaks me out. I like simple pages to look at.  I think some of us are wired up neurologically to crave uncluttered web pages.  But the ads here make it possible for this site to run.  So that is the reason for them.
