Q: My PCP Diagnosis was OCD. I think from what I have read I have ADHD. Can you have both?

I have been treated off and on over 10 years for OCD and generalized anxiety with antidepresants. I think I may have ADHD as well. I am a 54 year old male. My history seems to indicate both OCD and ADHD. I have never been treated for ADHD. The anti-depressants don't seem to help but thats what I get. I would like to get meds for ADHD to see if they will work better for me. But my Primary Care Physician is balking at the Idea. I can't afford a psychologist. Do you have any advice. Thanks very much.

Yes, you can. I have both. I am not sure where you are from but you might want to do a Google search on ADHD (adult) groups in your area and see if any of those folks can help you with a doc. Just a thought. Hoped it helped and good luck.
