Thank you for your question and welcome to ADHDCentral.com.

I am not a medical professional and would not be able to give you medical advice.

It is always suggested that you talk with your doctor before stopping any medication.

Most people do not experience any problems when stopping stimulant medications, however, if you have been on a high dose or been on this medication for a long time, you may experience some withdrawal symptoms such as headache or fatigue. If you do, you should talk with your doctor. He may want to wean you off the medication, slowing it down over time before taking you off it completely.

Thanks for your response. Is there a reason your doctor recommended this medication and you want to stop it? Is your son experiencing side effects?

I would suggest talking with your doctor. He or she should be aware if you stop any medications.
