Hi, My name is Nicole and I wasn't diagnosed until age 32. I had a ton of the same problems you are having and I would go to my mom and she would just say "don't worry about it". I was keeping everything inside and at 13 wanted to kill myself. I am now 35 and my parents still do the same thing. You are very smart and couragous to ask for help. Your parents I am sure do care but are just not understanding what you are going through. I know that I had the worst time at your age trying to figure out where I fit in. I never felt good enough. If you need anything you can e-mail me. Anyway, my answer to your question is to request to see the school psychologist or social worker. They can contact your parents and I know that sometimes it helps to have someone to talk too. Your parents need to know that if you do have ADHD or another issue and it is not treated it could cause major problems in the long run.  Believe me my life not knowing almost killed me. Literally.

I just am so happy to see that you are looking for help. I'm sorry your parents aren't really being there for you. You shouldn't talk so negative about yourself because there are plenty of gifts with ADHD too. You are not just a pile of problems or bad. There are I bet a million positive things about yourself that you aren't acknowledging. Make sure you do ask a teacher or someone in the office what you should do. They can then tell your parents to authorize an evaluation. Find someone you feel comfortable talking to though. It is important to let your feelings out. Anything that bothers you is important because you are important. Good Job for finding advice. I hope I helped some. Nicole
