Hi Amy

Well first of all kudos to you for taking in these boys and for providing stability for them.  I am so sorry they have gone through such experiences so early in life.

You have probably already done this but...have they had a good physical work up by a pediatrician to see if there are any medical problems?  Is the pediatrician prescribing the medications?

What supports do you have?  Do the boys have a child therapist or a behavioral therapist at all?  I would begin to investigate any supports or professionals who can help you.  You simply cannot do this on your own.

I have written articles about some of the behaviors you are describing including biting.   You can find tons of information here on practically every behavior.

Here is a general article about behavior management and how it works.

It is good that they are young and you can nip these behaviors in the bud before they become a huge problem.

I could write a novel but...your best bet is to find some supports to help you set up a behavior program at home and at school.  The pediatrician may be the place to start...to get a referral to a behavioral specialist.  See if your boys qualify for some type of early intervention program.

I wish you the best of luck.  Please let us know how things are going for you and the boys.
