Does the medication Trileptal also work for ADHD?

Hi Tiffany,

 

Thank you for your question! Trileptal is not FDA-approved for the treatment of ADHD, and I have never seen it used for this reason. Trileptal works by reducing nerve impulses that can cause seizures. Though it can be used for other disorders, including bipolar and trigeminal neuralgia, Trileptal is only FDA-approved for the treatment and prevention of seizures.
