Hi Danny,   Thanks for your question.   Questions about specific medications really should be directed to your physician and/or pharmacist. However, Health Central also has a whole section on Bipolar, called "Bipolar Connect" which has information on Depakote. You can read about it at http://www.healthcentral.com/bipolar/drug-information-978-150.html .   I didn't see anything specific about the safety of taking Depakote while working in extreme heat but found an interesting article on another website about how summer heat can be dangerous for those taking certain medications.
