Q: What is the difference between ADD and ADHD?

I have attention issues, I am irritated easily. I take my frustration out on my family. I am always running behind schedule. I know the time of the event, it matters if I am late but whatever has my attention is priority, no matter how small.

Ok there is no real diffrences

the add was an old diagnosis in the old DSM-3 that has been rewritten since then. Now in the new DSM-4 the way it is written is that AD/HD is the way that everyone is Diagnosed. You see there is three typs of AD/HD

Predomatly Hyperactive/Impulsive Type

Predomatly Initentive

Combined Type

and the Dianostic and Statistical Manual,4th Edition (DSM-4) Is due to come out with a new one in about a year or so.

Where I get my information is from this web site WWW.HELP4ADHD.ORG

I am the Coordinator of the Long Beach California CHADD

I know EXACTLY what you're talking about!! The difference between the two, ADD & ADHD is the "H" which means there is Hyperactivity involved as well...if it means anymore than that I am not sure. I do know that much thoughWink
