Q: Are people with ADHD bad at logical thinking? I am in college taking both a computer science course and a logic course and I find both to be extremely challenging.

I can always see the end or the whole finished product but making my way there is probably the hardest thing I've had to deal with in my life. I put in so much effort but I can't seem to understand what it is I have to do just on my own. Is this because of my ADHD or are some people just like this in general?

-I have severe ADHD and am on 30mg of Adderall XR

Thank you for your question and welcome to ADHDCentral.com.

I am not a medical professional and would not be able to give you medical advice.

Many people with ADHD have told me they are "conceptual thinkers" that is they see the big picture but have a problem with the details. That is not to say, however, that people with ADHD cannot be logical - each person with ADHD is different. However, inattention to detail is often a problem for people with ADHD.
