Q: Is there a direct link between my lifelong ADHD & my low blood sugar & hypoglycemia?

I have noticed over the years that because ADHD is a metabollic disorder that I cannot drink my morning coffee with sugar but have to use a substitute.  However, I am able to eat chocolate, ice cream and things of that nature with regular sugar and not sugar free.  I have always had low blood sugar readings.  So I'm wandering, what exactly is the connection?

Thank you for your question and welcome to ADHDCentral.com. Symptoms of hypoglycemia can sometimes mimic some of the symptoms of ADHD, but to date, there have not been any scientific studies connecting the two together.
