Where are meetings of Tough Love for parents of adult children in Nassau County, NY

I have been advised by a therapist to join Tough Love but have been unsuccesful in

finding such an organization in Nassau County, N.Y.  There are meetings in Dix Hills, NY

which is Suffolk County and quite a distance from where I live. Any information you have would be helpful.  Thanks.

The national organization Toughlove disbanded more than five years ago due to lack of adequate funding, an ongoing challenge for non-profits.

The book, Toughlove (1985) by David and Phyllis York is still available. Since that time, another author has taken up the York's work. In 2006, Rod Zodkevitch, M.D. published his book, The Toughlove Prescription (2006). Both books may be of help to you.

If there is a Toughlove group within your state - (contact info can circulate for years after a group has disbanded) - the group's facilitators should be able to refer you to other Toughlove groups within your state. If no phone number is listed for the known group, only a location, contact the listed location to confirm whether or not the group is still meeting and ask for a phone number.

Hope this helps you move forward,
