Health insurance for ADHD/Aspergers?

kelgold
10/22/08

My son has been diagnosed ADHD and ODD for some 9 years now and just recently diagnosed as possibly having Aspergers. His father, the jerk that he is, has let the insurance that he is responsible for lapse and now there is none and he really doesn't care since he isn't around much. Which is why he's been my "ex" for 7 years - that's besides the point. I am left to try to find health insurance for my son and have no idea where to turn. He is being denied everywhere since he is ADHD and "possibly Asperger's" I cannot afford the Dr. visits and medicines. Does anyone know of any insurance companies that will take us on? I am so much at a loss right now.

Have you tried applying for medicaid and/or FAMIS?  They have been covering my son's appointments and medication for the past 2 years.  Good luck.
