Q: What is the "normal" dosage for Vyvanse?

I am wondering what is the most typical dosage for Vyvanse users. People who have been on it for awhile. I know the different dosages I am just curious which one do people usually take. I feel like mine works in the morning then stops around 2pm.

Hi shellcat,

Thank you for your question! There is no set "normal" dose for Vyvanse. The available doses are 20mg, 30mg, 40mg, 50 mg, 60mg, and 70mg. It is recommended to start with a low dose (20 or 30 mg) and increase the dose until the desired effect is reached. If you feel that the medication stops working after 2 p.m., you may need a higher dose to help you get through the rest of your day. However, only your doctor will be able to make that decision. You should discuss what you're experiencing with your doctor and see what he or she has to say.

Best of luck,

Casey

I take 70mg when I need to stay focussed on schoolwork, but when Im on vacation or summer I decrease to 50mg mainly because my appetite increases when Im on a lower dose.
