A recent government report found that you have a 50/50 shot of winning if you appeal a denial of coverage from your health insurance company.
The Government Accoutability Office said that denials were often due to billing and eligibility issues instead of disagreements over whether care was needed.
Under the 2010 health law, insurers will be required to inform members that they can appeal disputed claims. The new rules become effective in July.
