Controlling Impulses

Impulsivity is one of the serious symptoms of ADHD. It consists of both acting impulsively in childhood - taking actions without proper consideration - to problems in adulthood, such as impulsive shopping or an inability to control emotional outbursts. This inability to consider consequences fits in line with the other symptoms of ADHD, especially the difficulty in planning and thinking into the future. However, impulsivity may not always be a negative, as quick decision making is often hailed as a positive among leaders.
