A simple motor skills test may help identify some children who suffer from ADHD. Researchers studied 50 children who had been diagnosed with ADHD and 25 who hadn't, and asked them to tap the fingers on their non-dominant hand while resting the other hand in their lap. They found that boys who had ADHD showed twice as many "mirror movements" in their resting hands than those who didn't have ADHD. The difference was not seen in girls.
