Schoolchildren have many misconceptions about attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), an Australian researcher has found. Among these misconceptions are that increasing ADHD medication doses will improve behavior, that students with ADHD are "anti-intellectual," and even that the condition can be contagious. The researcher has urged parents, teachers, and doctors to work toward eliminating the misinformation and stigma associated with the condition.
